If you’re missing all your teeth, an excellent option for replacing them would be a hybrid implant denture.
What Is a Hybrid Implant Denture?
A dental implant hybrid has some elements of a removable denture, but it is modified by including only the teeth and some pink acrylic which simulates missing gum tissue. Done well, by an artistic dentist like Dr. Brooksher, it can be difficult for others to tell that they aren’t your real teeth. And patients comment that it actually feels like they have their own natural teeth back.
The denture is firmly attached to the implants with screws, which makes it feel highly secure and stable. Four to six implants are generally placed to secure the denture. Unlike an implant overdenture, you cannot remove this at home. It is semi-permanently attached to your jawbone and can only be removed by a dentist. Oral hygiene is almost the same as with natural teeth. Brush them, but there is no need to floss.
When Are They Used?
Dental implants are stabilized by your jawbone. If you don’t have enough jawbone remaining for other dental implant procedures, bone can usually be grafted.
Dental Implant Hybrid Advantages
- Prevents bone shrinkage – Dental implants stimulate the jawbone and prevent bone shrinkage and facial sagging.
- Improved function – Hybrids enable your dentures to function and feel more like your own natural teeth.
- Improve appearance – Especially in the hands of a dental artist like Dr. Brooksher, to others it will look like you have a natural smile.
- Security – This is the most secure tooth replacement we can provide for you.
Who Is a Candidate for It?
All-on-4 dental implants might be right for you if any of the following apply:
- You wear complete dentures and are unhappy with them.
- You have lost, or are losing, a full arch of teeth.
- You are basically healthy, with no serious medical issues that could compromise the success of the surgery.
